MMM…Soup

I couldn’t help but blog about this. It’s just one of those normal everyday things that no body cares about but I still feel the need to share.

I made a mediocre roast last night and boiled some potatoes…

It was a HUGE bag of potatoes and I knew that we would never eat them all plain, SO back into the pot they go with water, milk, butter, some lovely pea and carrot purée and so on…

Voilà!

a yum soup!

two meals in the time of one…

we ate the soup last night and it is my lunch today.

now to make the roast more to my liking…

Breaking Out

Filed under: Kids, Outings, Pictures — Bec @ 21:10

After quite some time at home and a serious case of cabin fever, we decided to go out to lunch with the kids and some friends. It was a very enjoyable time and the kids were well behaved considering they’ve been cooped up for so long. Saturday the doctor said the baby was about the same as she saw her Thursday, but Thursday she had said that Evelyn sounded better than she had expected. We got instructions to stay out of daycare two more days and then she could return on Wednesday, with a re-check on the 31st. Today has been a clingy day for her though. The most she’s been since she’s been ill, though she has not had a temperature or coughed much. Perhaps she’s just hitting a growth spurt, or just getting back on schedule.

renovating

Filed under: General, Pictures — Bec @ 13:42

Not much, just a new profile picture at the moment. I figured the other one was four years old, it was about time I grew up a little more.

I’m also thinking about naming the blog… or committing to LarkExaltation as a name.

I’m at a loss and in need….

…Taking suggestions…

a Happy 2 Month old

Filed under: Kids, Pictures — Bec @ 12:45

But sadly the little squirt came home with a cough Friday. It progressively got worse over the weekend until Monday, it was a horrible cough which sounded like she was drowning. Luckily that’s only when she is awake, and she pretty much slept all weekend. We went to the doctor Monday for her two month check up and as I had been thinking, she tested positive for RSV. They’re letting her stay home with us, rather than hospitalization. YAY! We’re doing breathing treatments every four hours. She’s eating well and is in really good spirits, so I hope we caught it soon enough and this will be short lived. Thanks to the breathing treatments she doesn’t cough as much and her chest sounds like it is clearing up. She does have a little bit of a wheeze, but that doesn’t usually start until it’s time for a treatment. We go back to the doctor for a follow-up tomorrow morning.

Frozen Peas…

Filed under: Kids, Pictures — Bec @ 16:21

… make the best ice packs! I never noticed this before until I pulled the frozen broccoli out of the freezer and noticed how hard that must feel on her little forehead. So, I made an exchange for the peas. She screamed just as much, but I think it did a much better job. The knot went down quickly, and there’s hardly and bruising.

Now the story. There’s really not much to it. Saturday, I had gone grocery shopping and when I came home she was standing in the window waving at me. When I came in the door she spun around and started to run towards me, and landed head first into our piano. The poor baby. It was literally the size of an egg at first, I just knew it would bruise more, but it’s just the littlest bit yellow in color now and there’s the cut where she made impact.

It didn’t take long for her to feel herself again, but I did notice that she fell and smacked her head/face against more things … maybe I only noticed because she already had one head wound.

I love this painting…

I love the movie this subject was quoted from.

This was a post I’ve had titled but not written and saved since before I had Evelyn.

I’m not sure what was going on at the time or what I was thinking, but I decided to put the picture with the quote and share…

It’s a beautiful painting that I know nothing about, nor it’s artist Marc Chagall.

all that being said, I still love it!

ok - so i couldn’t help myself

Filed under: General, Pictures, Shopping — Bec @ 16:06

today, i bought this…

It’s just so beautiful, and I’ve been thinking about how very difficult of a time I have getting the Bjorn on and adjusted. And my husband likes to wear it too, so it’s always having to be adjusted. So after reading a very convincing blog post from BAGM, how could I not? Don’t worry, I put just as much research into baby slings as I do all of my … well, anything. I think I’m really going to enjoy it, I hope I’m right.
