Potty Training

Filed under: General, Kids, Pictures — Bec @ 8:56

Last week, Miss Libby only had a couple of accidents in her pullup, of course only at home. So her daycare care givers asked if we wanted to start sending her in panties. Of course PD and I had been talking about this for a couple of weeks now and we were all for it. Over the weekend we bought her Dora panties and Curious George panties… to add to her collection of Princesses and Elmo. She’s so excited. “Pretty Dora panties!” Monday and Yesterday, she went the whole day with no accidents. I think she even kept the dry pull up during nap. yay for my big girl! The only accidents I’ve noticed have been when I’m home alone with the kiddos and I’m feeding Evelyn and can not help her when the timing is urgent. I’m so proud of her doing so well… and so grateful for this wonderful daycare for sticking with it. We’ve had trouble in the past with daycares being inconstant causing lots of regression with Samuel. Of course all kiddos are different and it’s going to happen eventually. You either start early or wait for them to be ready, either way… it gets done.

Easter

Filed under: Holiday, Kids, Outings, Pictures — Bec @ 9:34

I’m doing major catch up on posts here, and I added two others for the 13th and the 14th. In this post we have my work Easter egg hunt from the 15th. With out “Onala” and “Ahmee” I don’t think that day would have turned out so well. We were running so late. It was nice to have a couple pair of extra hands… Thanks Ladies! And then the kids Easter baskets and the eggs we decorated. The Easter bunnies decided to not do too much candy. Each child got a hollow bunny and some long awaited prizes. I think the most expensive thing had to be the Elefun game that made it into Libby’s basket. Sam has been asking for that for a couple of years now. They really have a trunk full of fun playing it. (sorry, I couldn’t resist)

Mother Earth and Father Time

How very special are we
For just a moment to be
Part of life’s eternal rhyme
How very special are we
To have on our family tree
Mother Earth and Father Time

He turns the seasons around
And so she changes her gown
But they always look in their prime
They go on dancing their dance
Of everlasting romance
Mother Earth and Father Time

The summer larks return to sing
Oh, what a gift they give
Then autumn days grow short and cold
Oh, what a joy to live

How very special are we
For just a moment to be
Part of life’s eternal rhyme
How very special are we
To have on our family tree
Mother Earth and Father Time

a comment waiting for me this morning has this song flowing through my mind.
a nice change from the sci-fi dream i had last night.

Hail

Filed under: General, Pictures — Bec @ 9:13

We had a pretty good scare. The wind was blowing through like a train, and the hail was hitting the room so very hard.
PD had me get the kids in the hall bathroom while he checked out the weather from the back door.
Only a little damage to his truck, nothing worth bothering about.
I’m glad nothing serious came of it, and the kids were glad to go back to bed.

Snow Day

Filed under: Kids, Outings, Pictures, School, Work — Bec @ 20:50

It’s really hard to believe we actually got snow. Sam was so excited. He had been waiting for this all winter. They closed our schools at one o’clock, which I thought was hilarious. It didn’t even stick, much less stick around, but neighboring towns got hit pretty hard so I suppose it had potential for damage. Or maybe it’s just so rare, they wanted the kids to be able to play in it?! In my videos, it’s hard to believe the kids were even home. It was so quiet… except for my cell phone ringing a couple of times.

I was so worried about how this would turn out. They took this the day after the major hair cut. I’m very pleased.
