Mother Earth and Father Time

How very special are we
For just a moment to be
Part of life’s eternal rhyme
How very special are we
To have on our family tree
Mother Earth and Father Time

He turns the seasons around
And so she changes her gown
But they always look in their prime
They go on dancing their dance
Of everlasting romance
Mother Earth and Father Time

The summer larks return to sing
Oh, what a gift they give
Then autumn days grow short and cold
Oh, what a joy to live

How very special are we
For just a moment to be
Part of life’s eternal rhyme
How very special are we
To have on our family tree
Mother Earth and Father Time

a comment waiting for me this morning has this song flowing through my mind.

I love this painting…

I love the movie this subject was quoted from.

This was a post I’ve had titled but not written and saved since before I had Evelyn.

I’m not sure what was going on at the time or what I was thinking, but I decided to put the picture with the quote and share…

It’s a beautiful painting that I know nothing about, nor it’s artist Marc Chagall.

all that being said, I still love it!

Today’s Daily Word - Bless You

I care for others in tender, loving ways. Caring for another person is a ministry of love, and I give thanks for all the caregivers in my life and in the lives of others. These caring people may include parents, grandparents, friends, and medical staff. There are even those whose names are unknown to me but who put their lives on hold to be in service to humanity. These are people who devote their time, energy, and wisdom for the good of all. I also acknowledge my own role as a caregiver. That care may involve a full-time commitment to a loved one or an act of thoughtfulness, such as sending a card to a friend who needs my prayerful attention. I give thanks for the ultimate caregiver, God—the source of all good. It is through God’s presence within us that we care for others with tender, loving ways.

“Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet.”—Psalm 85:10

Charlie

our happy home has suffered a loss. our sweet dog charlie was struck down this afternoon. it hurts so bad to think about it. it hit PD the hardest. he’s always had the softest spot for animals. sam asked, “did you loose daddy?” any time he sees me crying he remembers when he ran off at the zoo and i had lost him. he was cool as a cucumber, but i was a blubbering idiot. “i need to go to the bathroom, you stay right here, you miss me, i’ll be right back” our sweet son tried to explain to me that she’ll feel better. it was hard to tell him otherwise. he finally told me that we would get a new one. like replacing broken toys i guess, to a four year old. he made me smile, and he wiped the tears off my cheeks.

i wish i had better pictures. anything digital is blurred because she moves so fast. i’ll probably try to dig out a snapshot of her this weekend.

she was fast like a greyhound, as tough as a pitt, but as sweet as the oldest nicest dog you’ve ever met. we’re really going to miss her.

red ribbon

i have the most beautiful image in my mind
today i saw a delicate japanese woman bussing a table

imagine if you will …

the black and white silk screen as a backdrop
black chairs and table
with tiny red flowers as a centerpiece

this graceful beauty dressed in black
wipes the table with her white cloth

i was mesmerized by the movement of her slender arms

her hair pulled back to a bun
and a red ribbon wrapped around her head.

oh! i miss my camera!
my description doesn’t suit my imagination

and neither the description nor the imagination are expressing just how peaceful i felt watching her
